A contemporary artist who was based in Manchester. As a child he was taught by LS Lowry, a family friend and shown various drawing and painting techniques by Harold Riley.

He attended Chelsea School of Art from 1980 to 1983, having won a scholarship on the grounds of exceptional talent. Suring his time there he won the 1st Time Out International Video Festival Award and featured in a BBC 'Forty Minutes' documentary.

Further success followed, as Phillippe made significant strides in developing his own style and methodology with a series of shows in America, London and Edinburgh interspersed with travel scholarship to Spain, the USA and Paris, all the while absorbing and applying techniques to broaden and strengthen his artistic skills.

Phillippe strived to reflect the natural forced at work in nature, inspired by micro and macro images from the human body and from the the cosmos. His work can be seen in private and commercial collections in several countries including Spain, the USA, Australia, Canada and Japan.

A book was published in 2006 entitled "In The Eye of The Beholder" to coincide with an exhibition held in Manchester and London called Sec Chemistry, which covers his life, works and techniques up to 2006.
