Lucy Manfredi
Lucy is a British female Northern artist who works primarily in oils and lives on the outskirts of Stoke-on-Trent.
She has been drawing from an early age, and decided as a child that art was what she wanted to do. Studying a BA Hons course at Manchester Met University, Lucy focused on illustration with animation where she graduated with film and illustrative work for her final show. Lucy has always been passionate about filmmaking, but decided to do a Masters Degree in Brighton, the name of the course being 'sequential design', hoping to eventually be a children's book illustrator. Since graduating Lucy as had various design positions, but has now decided to concentrate on painting.
Lucy loves observing, painting characters, people on the street.. men, women and children from all walks of life. The characters all represent the personalities of the people, or are 'characterisations'. Often these people are in a scene or in an interior, or as a portrait.
Being a Northern painter, she loves Northern life and the Northern art scene, which is often the subject of her work. Where she would portray a person on film, is now in a painting.
